My love for mountains can never end. The more I explore, more it unfolds new pages from its book of secret. So here I am with another exciting hill station which is quite promising to what we have in our mind. After much research, I come across Chopta. It may be possible that you guyz heard this name earlier, but as you know I am always come with more exciting information regarding the place.

Chopta is known as “Mini Switzerland” and is becoming popular year after year. It is located in the Rudraprayag district of Uttrakhand, and is surrounded by dense forest. It offers a snow clads of himalayan ranges.

Chopta is the starting point for the famous temple Tungnath Mandir (Panch Kedar Temple) and Chandrashila Summit.

During the hiking towards Tungnath Mandir  and Chandrashila one can enjoy clear view of majestic peaks of Panchchuli, Nanda Devi, Nilkanth and Kedarnath. This is something about the place know lets just explore it more.

HOW TO REACH:

By Air: The nearest air link to chopta is Jolly Grant Airport Which lies in the city of Dehradun and from Dehradun you can hire a cab to cover a distance of around 226 km to reach chopta.

By Train: Rishikesh is at a distance of around 200 km from chopta, you can travel by train to rishikesh and afterthat hire a cab to your destination.

By Road: It doesnt matter where you are in the state of uttrakhand , you can have a regular bus service towards chopta.

After knowing something about the place, its time to know what type of activities we have to perform, as any other hill station, in chopta also we’ll perform camping, trekking, survival actitvity, yoga, snow trekking, rock climbing, rock craft.

ATTRACTION POINT AT CHOPTA:

Chopta is having such a beautiful sight to see just like Tungnath temple, Deori Tal, Ukhimath, Chandrashila, Kanchula Korak Musk Deer Sanctuary. These place adds the beauty to this place. So what are you guyz waiting for, make your plans and add this place to your list of visited places.

SEASON AT CHOPTA:

Summer: The weather is quite pleasant during summer and the cool breeze add charm to the vacation. Carry light woolen with you.

Monsoon: The greenery of chopta welcomes you to get lost in the wilderness of the nature. There are chances to getting road block for few hours due to land slides but the beauty of the place worth it.

Winter: The region is blessed with rainfall during winter.It looks like mini switzerland during winter. It is too freezing during this season so do carry heavy woolens with you.
