You guyz might be wondering about what I am going to write about in my next article, but don’t you worry here I am with another thrilling and exciting hill station of Dehradun. I know there is no need to take a suspense in the name of the place, as you already knows from the head of the article. So without wasting much time let me tell you about Dhanaulti.

Everyone of you know about the popular hill station “MUSSOORIE”, I think some of you visited there. Well talking about Dhanaulti, it is 31.2 km away from Mussoorie and around 30 km from Chamba in the Tehri district of Dehradun. As you will have crowd in Mussoorie, so you must take a turn to Dhanaulti. It is unlike other hill station as it is away from crowd, market places and pollution, as it is an ideal location that ensures absolute peace of mind and soul. It is the base point for many treks into the snow capped himalayas. The most popular trek are towards three Shaktipeeths of holy devi darshan triangle.

Dhanaulti is the remote hill station, so you can have simple food there. If you want to purchase something than you don’t have too much options, you can have hand made shawls, stoles, scarfs, which were made using natural dyies. You can have Pashmina shawls also.

HOW TO REACH:

BY AIR: The Jolly Grand Airport is the closest airport. Cabs and Taxi are readily available to reach Dhanaulti.

BY ROAD: Your best way to reach  Dhanaulti  is through Mussoorie, which is the closest popular location. Cabs and Taxis, normal and luxury buses are also available, since it is so famous in locals.

BY TRAIN: Dehradun railway station is the nearest railway station to this place. Regular trains like the Doon Express, the Sangam Express Slip, the Mussoorie express, and the Delhi to Dehradun Shatabdi and Jan Shatabdi ply from here to the major cities.

MAJOR ATTRACTION POINT:

  • Surkanda devi Temple

At a distance of about 8 km from Dhanaulti and is about 5 km from city center.

  • Eco Park

It attract visitors because of its hill view. This park is divided into – Amber and Dhara park which is about 200 mtr away from each other.

  • Potato  Farm

This farm is also called Aallo khet, which is owned by Government and some private farmers, and is 1 km from city center.

 

  • Camp Thangdhar

It is the best adventure camp and is aproximately 14 kms away from main market of Dhanaulti, and is 12 km from city center.

 

  • Apple orchard resort

The apple Orchard is the home for wide variety of Apples that are cultivated and sold here, and is 6 km from city center.

BEST SEASON:

SUMMER: The summers are not too hot and temperature during this time is moderate. The temperature during this season is around 31 degree.

MONSOON: Dhanaulti is accompanied by heavy rainfall. Temperature fall further during this season, so it is not the ideal time to visit.

WINTER: Temperature during this time is very low. This is also a good time to visit the place, you need to carry some winter clothes durinf this season.
